The patent-pending IntelliCompress2™ technology continually samples the system resource usage and automatically adjusts the compression level to create the smallest backup files in the fastest possible time given the state of the environment.

Availability Groups

Configure policies to backup from preferred Availability Group replica. Then restore the database even if the backups originate from different Availability Group members.

Next-generation Object Level Recovery (OLR)

SQL Safe Backup exceeds typical object level recovery (OLR). It provides support for all backup file types and recovery of more objects (including those from log backups and foreign key restraints). Backup data files are more comprehensive and include transaction log data that conventional solutions for OLR typically ignore during restore.

Advanced Encryption

Protect backups by employing encryption via 128-bit and 256-bit advanced encryption standard (AES) with a performance degradation of less than 0.5%.

Support For Cloud-based Storage

Select Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Storage Service (S3) and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage as the location for backup, restore, instant restore, and object level recovery (OLR). Initiate cloud storage ad hoc, and select cloud storage in the backup and restore wizards.

Support for Enterprise Storage Solutions

SQL Safe Backup provides integration with solutions for management of enterprise storage from EMC Data Domain and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). This connectivity provides backup and restore capabilities to and from EMC Data Domain servers via an easy to setup wizard, and an interface to TSM for permanent storage of backup files. Consequently, adhere to corporate storage standards.

IntelliRestore™

The IntelliRestore™ technology provides graphical point-in-time recovery. Choose a point in time using a sliding time scale, and it automatically assembles all of the backup components necessary to restore the database to the specified point in time.

InstantRestore™

The patent-pending InstantRestore™ technology brings the database online immediately to virtually eliminate application downtime. Once online, it streams data from the backup file on-demand to support applications and user requests while completing the restore operation in the background. The database acts as a fully functional database, supporting all read and write operations.

Virtual Database

With Virtual Database, manage virtual databases from backups created by native SQL Server and SQL Safe Backup. Attach full backups or a series of backups. Virtual databases behave just like actual live physical databases. Use native tools (such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) and third-party tools (such as IDERA SQL Comparison Toolset) to access virtual databases. They provide complete support for read and write operations, including inserts, updates, deletes, database console commands (DBCC) commands, and other maintenance operations.

Policy-based Management

The unique policy-based management defines and automates backup, restore, and log shipping schedules across multiple databases, servers, and server groups. Automate backups with policies and eliminate the need for scripts and unnecessary overhead of backup and recovery processes experienced when performing backups natively. Create individual backup policies and apply them throughout the SQL environment. Simplifies the task of setting up and managing schedules and report exceptions to highlight jobs that did not complete as planned. Consequently, ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Centralized Management Console

The central enterprise console provides real-time and historical monitoring of backup and restore operations and job management capabilities. Multiple User Interfaces

Choose from multiple interfaces including web console, desktop console, command-line, and XSP web server. The easy-to-use, web-based user interface is accessible from any web browser. SQL Safe Backup also works within IDERA’s Dashboard to provide an integrated, centralized console to use across IDERA’s products. The intuitive Microsoft Windows based desktop console maintain a single pane of glass functionality. Command-line interface (CLI) commands enable you to create, update, and deploy new database policies, point-in-time restore, and object level recovery (OLR) functions.

SQL Safe Backup stores all backup and restore information in a central repository. This repository allows for full auditing of backup history across the enterprise.
