IDERA Expands SQL Server Product Line

New Products Provide Transparency into Job Scheduling as well as Deep Visibility into

the Health and Availability of the Business Intelligence Environment

PASS Summit, Seattle, WA – November 4, 2014 – IDERA, a leading provider of application and server management solutions, today announced two updates to its award-winning SQL Server product suite. The new products, SQL Business Intelligence Manager and SQL Enterprise Job Manager, ease the growing demands placed on database administrators (DBAs) by providing greater visibility and accessibility to critical functions such as job scheduling and the health and availability of the Business Intelligence (BI) environment. This allows DBAs to execute faster, with greater ease and more autonomy.

“Problems related to business intelligence services and enterprise job scheduling can severely hamper daily operations and have a negative impact on application availability and performance. Historically, DBAs haven’t had easy visibility into the health of the BI environment even though it’s a critical component of the database ecosystem,” said Josh Stephens, vice president of product strategy at IDERA. “With Business Intelligence Manager and Enterprise Job Manager, we’re giving DBAs the tools to take control of these systems and proactively avoid issues.”

New IDERA SQL Server products include:

SQL Business Intelligence Manager (BIM) provides DBAs with deep visibility into the health and availability of the BI environment, reducing the time it takes to troubleshoot issues. The product is browser-based, features a central management console and requires no agents to install, creating a comprehensive, yet easy solution to administer and manage. SQL BIM monitors all three modules within the Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite including:

  • SSAS (SQL Analysis Services)
  • SSRS (SQL Reporting Services)
  • SSIS (SQL Integration Services)

SQL Enterprise Job Manager (EJM) eliminates the inefficiencies associated with managing SQL Server agent jobs across the enterprise, one instance at time. The solution allows DBAs to see scheduled jobs at-a-glance to reduce the risk of concurrent jobs competing for resources, and provides summary views to help quickly identify, drill down and take action on trouble areas. If a job fails, the solution quickly notifies of the problem, and reruns the job to maintain the health and performance of the database.

“With the release of these two new solutions, IDERA has advanced its leadership position as the largest most comprehensive provider of database management tools in the world,” continued Stephens.

IDERA will showcase SQL Business Intelligence Manager, SQL Enterprise Job Manager and other SQL products at PASS Summit 2014 in Seattle, WA in booth #225. PASS Summit 2014 is being held November 4-7, 2014 at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center.
