- Does Idera SharePoint performance monitor install any code on the monitored WFE server?
No. Idera SharePoint performance monitor does not install anything on the WFE server. All the access is done remotely from the client machine where Idera SharePoint performance monitor was installed.
- How many WFE machines can be monitored by Idera SharePoint performance monitor?
Idera SharePoint performance monitor will monitor as many machines as you want but only one at a time.
- What are the minimum permissions required for the logged in account when using SharePoint performance monitor?
The user running the SharePoint performance monitor application (logged in account) will need to have at least 'View Only' access to the SharePoint Web Site that will be monitored by SharePoint performance monitor.
In order for SharePoint performance monitor to monitor counters on the target server, the logged in account will need WMI rights. The easiest way to ensure that the logged in account has these rights is to add it to the Administrators Local Group on the monitored server.
