  The Idera SharePoint Admin Toolset Architecture includes two main components. You install a server-based web service on any existing SharePoint Web Front End in the SharePoint farm that you want to manage. You also install SharePoint admin toolset client on any Windows computer on your network. The console connects to the web service to perform SharePoint administrative functions.

• Where do you install the Idera SharePoint admin toolset client applications?

  You can install the Idera SharePoint Admin Toolset client applications on any Windows computer in your enterprise network. The computer that you choose must be able to connect to the SharePoint Web Front End where you installed the SharePoint admin toolset Management Service. The client applications require Microsoft .Net framework 2.0.

  You can install the client applications on any of the following versions of Windows:

  • Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003

• What are the minimum permissions required for the logged-in account when using SharePoint admin toolset?

  When you specify the credentials that the Management Service uses, the username that you specify must be a Member of the Farm Administrators group in the SharePoint Farm that you want to manage. You specify the account in the format (domain nam)>\(user name).
  
  The user must be a member of the Farm Administators group in order to collect required information from SharePoint.
