Webcast : Making SQL Server Queries Run Faster

Faster, faster! We all want our queries to run fast, but what are supposed to do to make that happen?

This presentation is about approaching query writing and tuning as a repeatable process. We’ll start with some basic rules for writing good queries. From there we’ll see how to measure the actual performance of the query in reads and duration, the best way to evaluate OLTP type queries. With a baseline determined for our query we can then review the query plan for the five most common causes of slow performance, make the relevant tuning fix, and then re-execute the query to see if we made things better or not.
